One of my favorite games to learn with and pass the time is Kerbal Space Program, and a computer language that I have been learning recently is Python It should be no surprise that I immediately looked for a way to integrate the two and lucky for me there was a mod that could interpret the Python language and use it to conduct your space missions for you: learn to code and launch rockets? YES PLEASE.
I only download things that do for me what I could do in my sleep. Some of my favorite hobbies are the ones that involve playing games and picking up practical skills, and it’s even better when I can enjoy both at the same time. But for now, I'm in the Quality of Life phase of modding (and have been for five years). If I ever bother to fix my sound card, I'll get Chatter for the ambiance. Or some visual enhancements (but for now I don't play for the looks). One of these days I'll throw down for some extra planets, or life support or other "realism" type mods. Set an alarm and I get a reminder: "Yo dude, your ship is about to encounter Duna!"
I don't want to warp through 200+ days between leaving Kerbin and getting an encounter with Duna, but I also don't want to forget about my vessel heading to Duna and only check on it after it's already passed by. There's where Kerbal Alarm Clock comes into play. Then I started doing longer-term contracts and voyages that involved many, many days of wait in between. Set up some maneuvers that will get it into orbit around Minmus, press a button, poop again, come back and voila! Press a button, walk off, come back to it in a nice orbit 80 km over KSP. Super challenging when you're new, but eventually it'll just be a couple minutes of your life you'd rather spend pooping. Then I got bored of once again launching and getting to orbit. This addon automatically runs, stores and resets (assuming a Scientist is on board for experiments that require resets) any experiment that will generate even the tiniest bit of research. Then I added in For Science! because I was tired of obsessively running experiments hoping for more research points. For the first month or two, I did nothing. Or in the third you just want something that does science experiments for you. Or in the second you'd like space to be bigger for more challenge or different aerodynamics for hardmode.
Like in the first column you might want more planets or parts. Then poke around and see what's out there: basically, is there anything, now that you've played, that looks interesting? Either something you feel like the game, as published, is lacking, something you want changed, or some quality of life add on you'd like take care of.
